Yessss! This is BFF-level marketing on LinkedIn: get close to real people, let them carry the story, and make it easy for the right audience to find you.

"...if social is that central to the business, then the teams running it shouldn’t be treated like the meme department. They need real budget, real authority, and real tools."

LinkedIn may be cringe. But it sure does have its merit.

As a 3x LinkedIn Top Voice with 78K+ followers and 38K+ newsletter subscribers there, I obviously care a lot about where LinkedIn is heading. So your article stopped my scroll. 🙂

Having recently joined LinkedIn’s invite-only Creator Marketplace and its hand-selected LinkedIn Entertainment Community, my take is that LinkedIn is evolving from a professional networking platform into a media company.

And I think there’s a missed opportunity if we keep looking at these platforms in isolation. I see LinkedIn and Substack as complementary distribution points that can work together to grow both a business and a personal brand. They harmonize beautifully: LinkedIn for professional discovery, reach and network effects; Substack for deeper content, community and direct audience relationships.

That’s where I think this gets really interesting: building an ecosystem across platforms rather than trying to win on one alone.
